Reception Families Join Us for a Fantastic Phonics Morning
The morning was a wonderful celebration of the progress our Reception children have made since starting school. Families joined their children in the classroom and saw them confidently recognising sounds, blending words and applying their growing phonics knowledge during learning activities. Our children were incredibly proud to showcase their learning and demonstrate just how much they have already achieved.
The event also provided an opportunity for parents and carers to gain a deeper understanding of how phonics is taught in school and how they can support their child's reading development at home. Strong partnerships between home and school are essential in helping children become confident, successful readers, and it was fantastic to see so many families engaging with the session.
As well as sharing their phonics learning, our Reception children enjoyed showing their families around their classroom and sharing some of the exciting activities they have been involved in since September. Now fully settled into school life, the children demonstrated just how confident, happy and independent they have become.
A huge thank you to all of the families who attended and for the continued support you provide at home. We are incredibly proud of our Reception children and the enthusiasm they are showing towards their learning. We look forward to welcoming families into school again for future learning events.
