What is the Primary PE and Sport Premium?
The Primary PE and Sport Premium is additional government funding provided to primary schools to improve the quality of Physical Education (PE), school sport and physical activity. The funding is designed to create sustainable improvements by increasing staff expertise, broadening sporting opportunities and encouraging children to lead healthy, active lifestyles. Schools are required to demonstrate how the funding has been spent and the impact it has had on pupils.
At Linaker Primary School, we believe that sport and physical activity play a vital role in supporting children's physical health, mental wellbeing, confidence, teamwork and resilience. We use our Sport Premium funding to ensure all children, regardless of their background, ability or additional needs, can access high-quality PE lessons, a wide range of sporting experiences and opportunities to participate in competitive sport.
Our approach focuses on developing both pupils and staff. By investing in staff training alongside enriching opportunities for children, we aim to ensure that improvements in PE and sport are embedded for the long term and continue to benefit future cohorts of pupils.
