School Day Times

  • Nursery: 8:45am - 3:30pm
  • Reception: 8:45am - 3:20pm
  • Year 1, Year 2, Year 3: 8:45am – 3:25pm
  • Year 4, Year 5, Year 6: 8:45am – 3:25pm

Our school doors open at 8:45am each morning and all children should be in school by 8:55am. If your child arrives after 8:55am they will need to enter school through the main school entrance and a late mark will be recorded.

School finishes at 3:25pm for Reception, Year 1, Year 2, Year3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6. Nursery finish at 3:30pm.

The three external gates (Sefton Street gate, Linaker Street Nursery gate and Linaker Street Reception gate) are opened at 8:45am, with classroom doors and any external doors opening at the same time. All gates and doors are manned by a staff member once opened. Parents and cares should hand their children over to staff at the gates at the start of the day. You will be informed of the doors each class exit at the end of each day. There are yellow lines marked near the exit doors and we polite ask parents stand behind these lines to support the safe collection of all children.

Any children travelling to and from school by bike or scooter must dismount and push the bike or scooter whilst on school grounds. All bikes/scooters must be stored in the 'bike shed' located near the Sefton Street gate entrance.

We keep the school grounds secure between 8:55am and 3:15pm, and ask everyone to sign in and out at the school office using our electronic sign in  system. This is to make sure we know who is on site – both in case we have an emergency or evacuation/lockdown and need to do a roll-call, and to safeguard the children. If children have to leave/return between 8:55 and 3:25pm they will need to be collected/returned by an adult, and be signed out and in at the school office. 

Parents are encouraged to park away from the front of school and walk via  neighbouring roads. We regularly have parking attendants who help to police the safe use of this area.

Children who start at 8:45am and finish at 3:25pm:

  • 8:45am to 3:25pm = 6 hours 40 minutes per day

Over a 5-day week:

  • 6 hours 40 minutes × 5 = 33 hours 20 minutes per week

The school week is 33 hours 20 minutes, which is above the DfE minimum expectation of 32.5 hours per week.
