During the session, we explored how phonics is taught in school, the strategies children use to become confident readers, and simple ways families can support learning at home. We also shared information about the Year 1 Phonics Screening Check and demonstrated how small, regular reading activities can make a big difference to children's progress.

Working together is one of the most effective ways to help children succeed, and we greatly value the support you provide at home. By developing strong phonics skills, children build the foundations for a lifelong love of reading and learning.

If you were unable to attend, or would like to revisit the information shared, you can view the presentation below.

The Year 1 Phonics Screening Check will take place during the week commencing Monday 8th June 2027. This short check helps us assess children's phonics knowledge and identify any support they may need as they continue their reading journey.

Thank you for your continued support in helping our young readers flourish! 📚✨
